COMMENTS:Coyote,
NM is about 3.5 miles west of Hagan, and like Hagan, is located
on private property, but can easily be seen from the road. Foundations
of some of the homes are still visible.To get to Coyote and Hagan,
take I-25 north from Albuquerque to the San Felipe exit. Turn
east and go straight east through the casino parking lot. Coyote
is about 10 miles ahead. Look for the "Diamond Tail Ranch"
driveway. Coyote is about a mile more down the road on the left
hand side just before the road starts going down into the arroyo.
Continue east for another 3.5 miles to Hagan. REMAINS: Only a few old foundations and crumbing adobe walls. |

Coyote has about the same history as Hagan.
It came into being because of the coal mining in the area. It was short lived, however, and died years before Hagan. Submitted by Duane V. Peterson. |
