DEAD MAN. Changed to Capulin. DEAD MAN'S ARROYO. Union County. A few miles E of Sierra Grande Mts. where Seneca Creek heads. Received its name from the last Indian raid in Union County (then a part of Colfax County) on July 4, 1874. Ute Indians came through the country on the warpath, killing several Spanish Americans and two Anglos. The Anmglos were kiled in Corrumpa Creek and the Spanish in this arroyo.DEAD MAN CANYON. Otero County. Runs NW into Alamo Canyon, 3 mi SE of Alamogordo.DEAD MAN'S CANYON. Grant County. In Big Burro Mts. W of Tyrone; drains into Mangas Creek. Named after the body of an unknown murdered man was found here in the early days of Grant County.DEAD MAN'S CURVE. Bernalillo County.
