DRIPPING SPRINGS. In Organ Mts., 15 mi E of Las Cruces. Named for springs that trickle from the rocks. There are ruins of a hotel, built in the 1880's when the place flourished as a resort.DRIPPING SPRINGS. De Baca County. 3 mi E and 1 mi N of La Lande; flows into Red Lake. At one time called Wilcox Springs after a cattleman made it his headquarters. Dripping springs and the lake which feeds it (red lake) used to be one of the stops for travelers and cattle drivers across this section of the country. Here Billy the Kid and Charley Bowdre spent the night after Tom O'Folliard was shot near old Ft. Sumner.DRIPPING SPRINGS. Torrance County.
