Tent cities in the late 1870s/early 1880s, both were abandoned when gold fever subsided. Miner George Wells was reported to have taken $90,000 in gold dust and nuggets from nearby Wicks Gulch in 1877. North of Gold Dust was Andrews, a mining town with its own post office from 1898-1907 and about 100 people in 1905. Courtesy Michael Cook. |
