Kermit. One version of the naming reports it as commerative of president theodore roosevelt's son, who was illed in world war i. Another account traces it to d kermit fitzhugh, one of the two brothers from clovis who laid out the townsite here. Post office from 1910 to 1918. Previously called plateau.I opt for the latter.
