I rode horses through this ghost town when I was a boy. Later my Dad bought the only remaining house. The old bank vault was all that remained in 1958 except for a sheep dip tank that may have been built after the town burned and the county seat was moved to lovington. An old timer told me that greed is what killed the town, but he never would explain. Oil was just being discovered in the area when it burned, perhaps the second time it burned. I still have an old stove that I found in the brush near here that was dated 1908, but don't know the dates of the town or the post office. Submitted by Ron Payton.
