A true ghost town with no residents.South on NM 67 & drive for about 9 miles to a fork, take the right fork for 4.2 miles. Be sure to close all stock gates behind you. REMAINS: 4 buildings, numerous foundations. |
P.O. 1878-80, 1882-84, 1906-42.The town was settled in the 1840's by Spanish ranchers. It became a center of an Hispanic ranching community, appearing in the 1850 U.S. census as "Los Valles de San Antonio". The name La Liendre means "a sting of nits". Submitted by: Ron Brown |
