COMMENTS:
Lone Woolf. Take the state road due south
out of Kenna. Go about 25 miles to where the road turns back west towards
Roswell. Right at the turn in the roadthere was a one pump service station
that was run by Bob Crosbys brother in law. It was never a town but it was
a place. Nothing is there anymoreand the original owners children wish to
remain anonymous. They moved to Kenna and built a new house and Lone Woolf
became no more. There is no trace of where it was anymore. I am told. The
owner of Lone Woolf had a son who was manager for the Diamond A Cattle Co,
owned by Mr. R. O. Anderson. The other son married John Dentons stepdaughter
and operated a ranch near there until his death a few years back. REMAINS: Nothing left. |
The original and only owner of Lone Woolf station was formerly a cowboy for the LFD Cattle Company. In that immediate area were some of the nicest and best people I have ever known. They moved to Kenna in about 1942. Submitted by: Samuel W McWhorter |
