Macy: The name has been reported as an English corruption of Spanish 'Mesa' meaning tableland but this is an English surname and also in use by an Indian agency Post office in Nebraska where it was coined from the "ma" in Omaha and the "cy" in agency. The postoffice was established in Macy on July 23, 1907 and ceased October 13, 1913.My reference does not give any information on the postmaster, population, schools, or business. It just went away.
