MIERA. The earliest record of this name is that of a soldier, Bernardo y Miera y Pacheco, who appeared in Santa Fe as early as 1756, at which time he was alcalde mayor of Galisteo and Pecos. His son, Anacleto (also Cleto), although born in Chihuahua, is said to have been the founder of the family which settled at Miera. 9 mi S of Barney, at Harding County line.
