Tierra Blanca, a small collection of mines, was named for the white rhyolite on nearby mountain slopes. Gold and silver were taken from mines such as the Log Cabin and the Lookout. It had a population of about 35 in 1897 and a post office from 1892-1903. Courtesy Michael Cook. |
