Trechado. Said to be a corruption of span., trecheado 'stopping place.' arthur bibo, member of a prominent ranching family in valencia county, says the name is an error for techado, 'covered, roofed over,' the correct designation for techado mesa nearby. This was named for a ruin at its se base which has a walk-in well in the center, roofed by early indians before it was abandoned.
