WALLACE. 10 mi NE of Algodones. Mail to CERRILLOS; 1888/1895; Mail to PENA BLANCA. Became THORNTON; later DOMINGO. WALLACE. COLFAX COUNTY. 28 mi W of Des Moines. Said to be named for General Lew Wallace, author of 'The fair god (1873) and 'Ben Hur (1880).
