YRISARRI. A former trading point and community , established by Don Pablo Yrisarri, a spanish loyalist, after he was driven out of Vera Cruz by Mexican 0atriots. He later moved into the Rio Grande Valley and married twice into families of the Albuquerque District, in 1811 and 1822. Some of the people who had come north with him remained at Yrisarri but their decendants have since slowly left the area.
