FRISBIE

NAME: Frisbie
COUNTY: Lander
ROADS: 4WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Interesting country.
REMAINS: Stone Ruins.

Miners from nearby Cortez made the initial discoveries during the spring of 1883 and a camp of around 25 was formed. Mining activity continued at an even pace until the early 1890s when ore values dropped. By the turn of the century the district was abandoned and no activity has taken place there since. All that remains at Frisbie are a couple of stone ruins.
