NAME: Cluro COUNTY: Eureka ROADS: 2WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter. BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime. |
COMMENTS: Not worth the trip REMAINS: Railroad sidings. |
Cluro was a stop on the Central Pacific and later the Western Pacific Railroads. A small settlement formed here during the late 1870s and early 1880s. A few residents continued to live here through the 1920s but none since that time. Only the railroad siding remains to mark the site.
