REMAINS: A few cabins and foundations

The town was one among many that came into being one year and died the next. Such was the fate of Duluth. Small amounts of ore were discovered in July of 1906 and within one week there were 100 miners on the site. By October it had absorbed the neighboring mining camp of Stratford and it contained three saloons, a boardinghouse, a lodging house, a butcher shop, a livery stable, a store, a barbershop, and an assay office. But it was not to last. By the end of 1907 most people had moved away. The post office closed in December and that was the end of Duluth. A few cabins remain but there is nothing else at the site except some faint sunken foundations.
