HARRIMAN |

|
NAME: Harriman COUNTY: Nye ROADS: 2WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter. BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime. |
COMMENTS: Nice area. REMAINS: Just the boardinghouse. |
The camp never grew to any size and at its peak had fewer than twenty-five residents. The mining company built a few wood boardinghouses, but that was the extent of construction. Supplies were brought in from Eden, a few miles to the north. The camp did have an ample supply of wood, used for both heating and for support beams in the tunnels. Water was quite abundant but the ore was not. By the end of 1910, the Nevada Gold Sight Company was in the red and folded early in 1911. The remains of Harriman are scant. Only the ruins of one boardinghouse mark the site.
