A small vegetable ranch owned and operated by a man named Milton in the 1889s raised and sold produce to the residents of Grantsville and Berllin. However, mining higher up in the canyon first brought attention to Milton in 1863 and a small-scale boom ensued. Twenty or so homes were built near the mines. After several months of operations, the ore was deemed to be almost valueless. Everyone had left by the fall of 1865 and the houses moved to Grantsville. At the Milton ranch site, a trailer and one wooden structure still remain.
