Pahute Mesa was the site of Trappman’s Camp formed in 1904. It lasted until late 1905 and then faded not having found deposits rich enough to warrant continued activity. Nothing of any consequence occurred until April 1945 when a miner who stayed after all had left hit the rich vein he had been seeking for fourteen years. The site is now inside the Nellis Air Force Base Bombing and Gunnery Range.
