NAME: Agawaw COUNTY: Grady ROADS: 2WD GRID: 2 CLIMATE: Hot Summers. Mild to Cold Winters BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime

COMMENTS: No known residents. Old Agawam school still remains. South of Chickasa on US Hwy 81. Almost due west of Ninnekah a few miles. Old Rock Island Tracks are near there. I don't know when town died. Has not been much there in last 70 years. REMAINS: Old School remains may still be there, such as foundation. No sign indicating Agawam anymore.

Agawam had a school, general store, Post Office and few building in the early part of the 20th Century. It may have had a cotton gin. I just remember seeing the sign many years going to my Grandparents in Ninnekah. Submitted by: George M. Hedrick
