Boynton used to be a African Masonic town, It's main export was a cotton economy, and it was thriving well into the 70's, but several disaters spelled the end for this grand town. First, The jobs went elsewhere, primarily Muskogee, Okmulgee, and Tulsa. The final nail in the coffin for Boynton was a string of three robberies that forced the town's only convenience store to close.Beautiful buildings on the main street, and if you do decide to stop by, check out the Allen Chapel, their last service was in 1995 according to the local records I saved for a local Tulsa AME church group.
