Eagle City is what happens when you plan for the railroad and the railroad doesn't come through. There are a few residents left (and a very friendly dog that appears to want to take visitors on a tour). Submitted by: David Broda UPDATE: Update on Eagle City, Oklahoma... Unfortunately, wildfires in late summer 2000 claimed several of the abandoned buildings on Eagle City's former "main drag." These include the buildings shown in David Broda's photos, which are now reduced to mostly bare foundations. But there are still quite a few abandoned homes on the west side of town. (Last visited in October 2000; I plan another trip later this month.) Submitted by Mike Branick, August 2001 |
