NAME: Eddy COUNTY: Kay ROADS: 2WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Hot summer BEST TIME TO VISIT: Don't know |
COMMENTS:
Eddy is reportedly no longer there. Is still on the official 2001-2002 state map. Exit I-35 either on hwy 11 to the west, then turn south and go through Nardin - another 5 miles on unknown road. Other was is to turn off K35 onto State Hwy 60 to the West, go about 6 mi, then north onto the unknown road about two miles. The road may be the county line road. The cemetery, New Home, is further west, don't know exactly where. I'm told it's clearly marked from the highway REMAINS: Reportedly none - although there is a cemetery near |
Eddy was a thriving town in late 1800's, early 1900's. Not a big town but big enough to support four churches. In the early 1900's a fire completely burned down the town of Eddy. Eddy was rebuilt, including the churches and stores. Eddy was totally wiped out by a tornado also in the early 1900's. Submitted by: Nancy Wagner
