COMMENTS: There is a reunion the 1st Sunday of each June at the old Martin Church off of FM 2001 east of I35 (Near Buda, TX)
REMAINS: The Martin Church and a historical marker.
Named for J. T. Goforth. Mainly a cotton producing area. First school, Prairie Hill, built in 1881. Post office from 1890 to 1902. Prosperous cotton gin in early 1900's. Flood in 1913. Population declined with Ag output. School closed in 1948. By 1981 only the cemetery was on the map. Submitted by: Joe Lockwood
