No Residents. Written up in Ripley's "Believe It or Not!" for a Pharmacy named "Furr & Hare Pharmacy". Mr. Furr went on to start the Furr Food Market grocery store chain and Furr's Cafeteria chain. REMAINS: a few building foundations |
The town once had a post office, pharmacy, food market, hotel, bank and other stores. The two story, wooden hotel, owned by J.J. McAdams, was to be moved a few miles down the road to Paducah; however, after being jacked up on wagons, McAdams' cowboys had to return to his ranch to tend to their branding chores. While they were gone, the hotel was stolen and not one board was ever found. Submitted by: Charles "Chun" Gafford, great grandson of J.J. McAdams. |
