COMMENTS: All that remains of the community is an active church, a former school house now a community center and several houses.On FM 467 the state had a highway sign pointing to the community,but that is now gone.However there is a county sign for Sweet Home Road. REMAINS: Assorted homes ,other buildings

Sweet Home is a mile west of Farm Road 467,eight miles southwest of Seguin the county seat. It was established before 1877 by former slaves.In the 1900s,the town was the site of a two story industrial school for blacks. This building is not standing.In neighboring Lavaca County there is a town named Sweet Home.This is a mainly Czech and german community with a Catholic church. Submitted by: Holly Hilpert
