COMMENTS: No residents.Closest town is bonanza utah.Quite close to the utah colorado border. Take hwy.40 west out of dinosuar colo. Cross border into utah approx. 15 miles out of dinosuar there is a road sign pointing south that says bonanza. This road will junction with hwy. 45.Turn left on this road and go to bonanza. At bonanza go south throgh town.Its not much of a town no stores just a gilsonite mine and company housing.Continue on the paved road until you see a dirt road off to the left.It says rainbow or dragon. A good landmark to look for is a huge rock that looks like a duck.Its on the left side of the road.This road goes for many mile but there is a mileage sign that says rainbow,dragon,and watson. The first gho0st town is marked as watson. I'll leave the rest up to you REMAINS: Old cabins built into the sides of the hill,old machinery and model a parts,corrals and old dumping grouns.

The town of watson was probably established around 1900 and was inhabited till around the late 20s.The people who lived there were gilsonite miners and there families.Gilsonite is a mineral that is still used and mined today,but not in this area anymore. Now it's mined in bonanza.There are still some structures standing,and there are many that have collapsed.At one time the town had around 750 people living there. Submitted by: Mark anger
