Johnson is a movie set that was home to Gunsmoke and over 50 movies. It is privately owned and is sometimes open to the public for tours. Inquire locally. Submitted by: Kurt Wenner. UPDATE: My correction is about Kane county uath the city of Johnson. The movie set isn't the town, and all that is left of the town is the groavyard containing 20-25 headstones. It is fenced off and is located on an LDS church farm . Johnson was a town commisioned by the LDS church founded by Joel Hills Johnson who is burried in the cemetary . To reach the town from the movie set go back on the road you came on 2-3 miles and there is the church farm just off the road the family/care takers are very nice and might grant access . Iknow all of this because when i was 12 we visited it for a family reunion (Joel Hills Johnson is a far off relative ) George Hinton.
