Named after Joseph Beury, this town was a coal mining town. Buery built a big house here with stone imported from Germany. The cost was said to $100,000. Later Beury's children lived here until they moved to Charleston. At some point the mansion was destroyed by fire. In 1910 the population of Beury was 495.
