CLIMATE: Hot summer and cold in the winter between Worland and Thermop
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring
COMMENTS: Gerbo is more of worland's rifle range. I'm a resident of worland so that really the only reason I know there is just a few old rusted buildings left there.
REMAINS: Just a few rusted buildings, cemetery.
There are a couple of graveyards in Gebo, if one took the time to read the grave markers they would wonder what kind of a hard life the miners of Gebo and their families led. The majority of the graves are of infants and children, most living only a day or several months at best. There are the remains of the building where the miners must have reported to work. One wonders why the floor of two of the larger buildings are sloped upward at both ends and lower in the middle. You can see that some of the homes were simply dugouts with rocks piled up at the sides and fronts. There are the remains stone houses with most of the walls remaining standing. You can see the remains of a large blower that must have helped air circulation in the mines and you can still see many mine shafts with the timbers at the mouth still standing. -Sheila Glover
