There are no current residents in Gunn.
Take I-80 E from Rock Springs, when you reach the airport road exit and
go to the North side of I-80 Take the road to the right and follow it approx,
20 miles there you will find Gunn. REMAINS: Many old building renains and cement blocks. |
Gunn was opened in 1907 by the Union Pacific Coal Company. It operated until 1948, when the U.P. Coal Company shut up operations there. In 2003, Pacific Corp had an archeological dig there, in which the concentrated mostly on the dump. The Sweetwater County Museum in Green River has a DVD on the subject and some of the artifacts.
