NAME: Lee City COUNTY: Park ROADS: 4WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Snow in the winter. BEST TIME TO VISIT: Summer. |
COMMENTS:
No residents. There was only remnants of three building left. But I also did not have time in my schedule to walk to the rest of the site which was approximately 1 mile further. Go north of Cody on 120. Go west on 296 to Sunlight road (not little sunlight road). If you stop at the ranger station you can get info about Lee City. There is also a map there you can look at to get an idea of the area. When I was there all of the roads were not open yet because of grizzly habitat protection. I drove as far as possible and parked at the gate and walked 3.25 miles to this part of the site. I had to ford the river on foot to reach the site. Very swift currant at this time of year (early July and earlier). This is only for experienced hikers. REMAINS: Remnants of 3 buildings. Maybe more further down trail. |
