MORMON ROW |
|
|
NAME: Mormon Row COUNTY: Teton ROADS: 4WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Warm in summer, snow in winter BEST TIME TO VISIT: Mid - late Summer, early fall. |
COMMENTS:
There are no current residents in Mormon
Row. Though, it is a hot-spot for japanese tourists by the bus-load, with
seemingly endless rolls of film! But do not be detered, it is a worthwhile
trip. Located inside Grand Teton national park, east of Moose. REMAINS: Some buildings, and also the remains of the water irrigation system. |
Four Mormon families setteled here in 1889. Along with them came intrest in community service (schools, mail service, & churches). Until then, people had known this area as a rough "bachelor valley". How odd. Submitted by: Ryan J. Hill |
