Pansey was a very vibrant farming community in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was incorporated in the late 1800s and was named after the first postmaster's daughter. At one time there were several stores, a feed mill, a cotton gin, a two-storey school house and a doctor. The railroad also made a stop in Pansey. As farming died out, so did the town.
