Katherine's post office was established December 21, 1921 and discontinued June 5, 1929. Katherine was one of the larger camps on the northeast Colorado just west of Kingman. There were really two periods of operation, one in the early 1900's and one from the depression era through world war II. During the second period, a free lot in the town was given to the first couple to have a female baby and name her Katherine.
