Polhamus Landing was named in honor of Captain Isaac Polhamus, who was a steamboat captain for a yuma paddle-wheeler company. Polhamus had a warehouse and other buildings and served as a drop off point for nearby mining towns. When the railroads came through most all the landing towns became obsolete and so was Polhamus fate. |
