In the area of Seneca and prior to the Indian Reservations and their 'new' systems of government and control there were numerous mines in the Salt River area and the ruins are literally scattered all over the area. Some you will not be able to get to for one reason or another but with planning there are many you can see. Also, some of the mines that are not on the reservation are privately owned and as such are not accessable. Seneca, Mule Hoof and Timber Camp were support towns to early prospecting, mining and ranching in the area. As you are aware there are a lot of minerals in the area and in those early days there were few access roads and most travel was by horse and wagon. Bobby Zlatevski and George Brunson
