COMMENTS: Near the McCracken mine. REMAINS: Nothing.

Virginia City was possibly the mill town for the McCracken mine. It was directly across from the town of Signal and could be considered one in the same. The post office was at Signal but the 20 stamp mill was at Virginia City. There was a drugstore, saloon, hotel, restaurant, general store, and many dwellings. There was at one time between six and seven hundred people living here. Today, nothing remains.
