Juanita had a Catholic Mission which still stands today (abandoned) along with one or more other buildings. The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, San Juan Branch also passed through this town. The D&RG RR operated this branch during the years 1880-1967. It was the connection between Chama, NM and Durango, NM. Submitted by: Douglas Matthes |
