Founded in 1800s by a Methodist minister named Croman. Gelushea Avenue was main street. When the USAF needed the land to build Tyndall AFB in the 1930s residents of Cromanton and other towns on East Peninsula were told to get out. Farmdale and San Blas were two other towns on what is now Tyndall AFB to suffer similar fates. Submitted by: Mark Pippin
