COMMENTS: Paved all the way. From hilo take rt. 11 to keaau. Turn on rt. 130, proceed 11 mi. To pahoa. Turn on rt.132. About 6 miles down the road, on the left, is a forest of ironwood trees growing in red cinders in front of a small (100')red rock volcano. This is where the town was. About 1 mi. To ocean.
REMAINS: Nothing
Kapoho was a farming town,had stores, a church, school, several houses, was destroyed by the 1960 lava flow, much the same way as kalapana 30 years later. Submitted by: John hutchins
