SANTA FE

NAME: Santa Fe
COUNTY: Haskell
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 2
CLIMATE: Snow in winter, hot in summer
BEST TIME TO VISIT: No good time as not much to see except cattle.
COMMENTS: Town wasouth of Garden City, Kansas and north of Sublette, Kansas. It is now a hugh feedlot, but at one time it was on the railroad, and even considered for the county seat. It would be located at the NE corner of the junction of US 83 and US 160 West and Kansas Highway 144 East. No residents except lots of cattle.
REMAINS: None that I know about.
My grandparents lived in Santa Fe, and so did my mother. It was gone by 1920. I think the University of Kansas either has a website or a book about Kansas Ghosttowns. Submitted by: Elborn Mendenhall
