REMAINS: A few old buildings, 2 churches
Moran has been around for a few hundred years and at one time was larger than its neighboring city, St. Ignace (population 2500). Moran currently has a population of about 200 people. Two churches, a Shell station, a post office, and a bar are pretty much all that remains in Moran. The city actually spans for several square miles, but homes are few and far between. Moran was heavily traveled in the early days of the Western movement by Native Americans, hunters, and trappers passing through the beautiful land. A small skirmish was even faught in a wheat field during the Civil War. Submitted by: Kristy McPherson
