St. Louis Arch
Downtown St. Louis on the Mississippi River front $8 adults $5 youth; $3 children 12 & under Open all year, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. in winter; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. in summer
The St. Louis Arch is the largest man-made monument in the world, towering 630 feet. Completed in 1968, visitors can take a tram to the top of the arch for the spectacular view that can extend 30 miles on a clear day. They can also visit a historical museum below the arch detailing Missouri frontier history. Special events are held throughout the year at the arch, especially during the summer hours.

Exhibits include artifacts from Jesse's grave when he was exhumbed in 1995 for DNA tests. Those results showed a 99.7% certainty that it was Jesse James who was shot in St. Joseph in 1882.
