Farming community REMAINS: Remains of the railroad house |
SPrincipally a railroad town on the El Paso & Southwestern Railroad line, Hermanas was a farming and stock raising community whose population probably never exceeded one hundred and fifty people. Its post office opened in 1903 and closed in 1925. The only remaining evidence of the town today is what is left of the railroad section house. Courtesy Henry Chenoweth. HERMANAS: Span. 'Sisters'.
