Queen. Former settlement on NM 137, 40 mi SW of Carlsbad, in Guadalupe Mts. Started by J. W. Tulk, who built a store and post office here in 1905. The nearest water was on the ranch of two brothers, J. C. And J. J. Queen, and Mr. Tulk agreed to name the place Queen for the use of the water. Now known as the Dr. Womack ranch.
