CENTRASVILLE

NAME: Centrasville
COUNTY: Nye
ROADS: 2WD
GRID: 1
CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter.
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime.
COMMENTS: Was much at one time.
REMAINS: Debris.

Formed in 1878, Centrasville was a small camp named after a John Centras who made a small discovery and began working his Monterey and Martin mines. By 1880 about fifteen men were employed. Residents erected a few buildings, including a boardinghouse but no business ever existed in Centrasville because of its proximity to Grantsville. By 1890 everyone had given up on the mines and moved away. Now only mine dumps and some wood debris mark the site.
