Evans was a siding on the Eureka-Nevada Railroad located near the Evans Ranch, owned by J.V. Evans. Neighboring ranchers used the siding to ship their goods to Palisade and Eureka and also to receive supplies. Population never exceeded 25 residents. The railroad folded in 1938 but Evans continues to operate as a ranch. Some of the original structures still exist.
