NAME: Starr COUNTY: Lander ROADS: 4WD GRID: 1 CLIMATE: Hot summer, cool winter. BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime. |
COMMENTS: Interesting country. REMAINS: Rubble |
A small camp of about 25 formed in 1881 near the mine named Starr and Grove after two prospectors whose last names were Starr and Grove. Only a year later the mine was mined out and by summer the camp had been totally abandoned. Only mine dumps and scattered rubble mark the site.
